Dear Accolade Customer,
Enclosed is the latest Revision (ver. 1.5) of Jack Nicklaus' Unlimited Golf &
Course Design. If you were experiencing one of the following situations, this
new version should solve your problem.
1. The random sky hazzard has been remedied in this version. The ball no
longer bounces off invisible objects.
2. All sound effects now play through the Adlib, and Soundblaster soundboards.
3. All sounds can be toggled on/off at any time by pressing Alt S when using
the GOLF or DESIGN programs. NOTE: If you press Alt S before the end of
a round of golf, the music will not play.)
4. The scrambled graphics on the flag screen using 486 computers has been
corrected.
5. If you have a math coprocessor, program freezes have been corrected.
6. Digitized sounds will now only play on computers with clockrates greater
than 8 Megahertz (MHz). Previously, on systems 8 MHz or slower, there was
an occasional random freeze when a digitized sound occurred (when putting,
for example). This was due to a conflict between the clockrate of the
system and the timing of the digitized sound. Good news for IBM PS/2 Model
30 & Tandy SL users; the program does not freeze up any more.
7. The Genius mouse will now access all parts of the screen when in the
Design program.
8. Cactus will no longer show up unexpectedly on your Royal Troon Golf Club,
Scotland (J1), or Hazeltine (J5) courses in VGA graphics mode.
9. A flag appearing in the upper left hand corner of the overhead (out of
bounds from the golfer's view) in "tourn" mode, will no longer happen if
all 5 pins are not placed on a hole when in the Design program (the
computer will now automatically place the other four pins to avoid this
occurrence).
10. For those who like to show off their scores, you can print a scorecard by
playing a full round of 18 holes while in the tournament mode. The
tournament mode can be invoked by typing:
golf [graphics] tourn <enter>
example: golf v tourn <enter>
Choose players, choose course, play 18 holes, quit to DOS.
(while playing you cannot change the course conditions or save a
game in progress.)
After completing a tournament, type: results [course file name] and
press <enter>
example: results bear.res <enter> to display The Bear's Track
course scores to the screen
Issue a print screen command from the keyboard to print scores to
your printer. <Ctrl>-<Prt-Screen>.
